I have gone spray paint crazy recently. I am hooked on this wonderful matte chalked spray paint from Rust-Oleum. Read below. Maybe this will give you an idea for something that you could easily update by spray painting it.
Spray Painting Wooden Chair
First, I painted this wooden chair for the @oneroomchallenge and I am so pleased with how easily it went on. I was immediately looking for more things to paint. After a light sand, I wiped the chair down, then just spayed. I could not believe how easily it went on, and there were no drips.
Spray Painting Handles
Next I painted the handles for the dressers and cabinets in our principal bedroom also for the @oneroomchallenge. I used this great technique of putting the handles into cardboard. There was a bit of prep, but after that, it was so easy. I didn’t even clean the handles and the paint went on easily and so far, is chip resistent.
Spray Painting A Vase
In addition, I spray painted this vase that was gifted from by a friend many years ago, for the one room challenge It was looking a little worn, but with a quick coat of matte gold, it has a whole new life.
Spray Painting A Vent Cover
Maybe this will provide a solution for a problem that you have. We have a heater vent in our powder room that is right below the towel bar. The constant drips from wet hands has made two vent covers rusty. So I painted our rusty vent cover with Rust-tolem paint and it is as good as new.
The next thing on my painting frenzy was the tray that hold our oils and vinegars beside the stove in the kitchen. The tray was a sickly green that I kept overlooking. So, the tray was next thing to meet a can of spray paint. This tray required some taping off as it has silver edging, but once that was done, the spaying was easy. I now have a tray that blends in with the kitchen counter, which is what I was looking for.
Spray Painting Set-up
I had a table set up in the garage with a paint cloth over it. So, I would open the garage door and embark on my next spraying project. With the door open, the neighbours must have been wondering what I was up to. But this was the perfect set up to tackle one project after the next with very little preparation.
I felt like I was on a bit of a timeline because winter is coming. We have since done a big garage clean-up, and my painting set-up is now gone. But my brain is still working overtime wondering if there is something else I can paint. There might be some things that you could easily update in your home with a little bit of time invested in some spray paint.
